Revolutionizing Dental Technology: Anton Melnikov’s Journey from Inspiration to Innovation
My path to medicine started in 2016 when my partner, Elena Pachina, an orthopaedic dentist became my inspiration and guide to this profession. My name is Anton Melnikov and I am a dental technician.
It was extremely interesting to listen to medical terminology among mutual friends, thoughtfully imagining what laterotrusion or the Popov-Godon phenomenon is. Did you know that body posture and manner of walking depend on the dental bite, and the tooth has a waist, a fossa and an equator?
In 2019, after graduating from Medical College, I was lucky enough to get an internship with a dental technician Ivan Lipirov, who became my mentor. In 2022, I opened my laboratory.
My laboratory is located in the same building as one of the country’s leading dental clinics. It is part of a unique educational project based on the DaVinci Dental Training Center, which annually trains up to 500 people from around the globe. The educational centre offers training in orthopaedics, surgery, endodontology, periodontics and orthodontics. I print all phantom models for dental courses on an Asiga MAX UV 3D printer.

Now I’m recruiting a team of people who feel the same way I do. In the future, I am planning to launch a 3D printing training module for dental technicians and organize a monthly discussion club.
I am immensely grateful to my entourage: the DaVinci team of doctors, headed by the highest level orthopaedic dentist Karen Chavushyan. Their high quality standards inspire and stimulate me to develop.
